Electric Atmosphere At Angels Den SpeedFunding January 8, 2009

Electric Atmosphere At Angels Den SpeedFundingOn a freezing night in Central London, Angels Den staged over 260 individual pitches at its dynamic SpeedFunding event on 6 January 2009.

14 entrepreneurs gave individual three minute pitches to 19 Angel Investors on a one-to-one basis in a bust-gutting three hour extravaganza, held at Adam Street, No. 9 Adam Street, off the Strand.

Bill Morrow, co-founder of Angels Den, said: “The atmosphere was electric. Many of our entrepreneurs have come away with strong expressions of interest from not just one Angel, but a few. These will be followed up in the coming weeks by both parties and will be supported by Angels Den”.

Angels Den launched SpeedFunding in May 2008 and is still the only company to offer individual pitches to a number of Angel Investors at a single event.

Bill Morrow continued: “Unlike Dragon’s Den, it is not intimidating for entrepreneurs as they are able to engage with the Angel Investor. We are not looking to slay any entrepreneurs at Angels Den!”

In just over a year since its launch, almost a fifth of Angels Den’s customers have secured funding. From just £99 an outline business plan can be posted online which is then accessed by the 2000 plus registered potential investors. The site now has the largest number of angel investors in Europe.

The next SpeedFunding event is on Wednesday 4 February in Central London from 6 – 9 pm. To attend entrepreneurs must have registered with Angels Den and have posted a business plan online.
