North West entrepreneurs looking for finance to start or grow their business can get free advice from one of Europe and Asia’s largest equity funding facilitators, Angels Den, at this year’s Business North West.
Bill Morrow, founder of Angels Den, who has been creating, building and selling businesses for the last 25 years and founded Angels Den in 2007, will also provide a keynote speech at the exhibition. Drawing from his own experiences, he will be offering the Business North West audience jargon-free tips on accessing funding, getting a business off the ground and how to achieve corporate goals.
Other high-profile guest speakers at the exhibition, taking place at Manchester Central on 4th and 5th May 2011, include former Dragon, Richard Farleigh, BBC Apprentice star, Alex Epstein and Phil Jones, sales and marketing director of Manchester-based Brother UK.
The event, dubbed as the region’s premier business-to-business exhibition, is set to be the biggest and best yet, with more than 4,000 delegate registrations received to-date and 80% of exhibitor space already snapped up.
“We match companies looking for funding with Angel Investors and are passionate that all companies with a good idea and a sound business plan should have the opportunity to access funding. We have an increasing amount of Angel Investors looking for exciting business ideas to invest in, which is why we have opened a regional office in Manchester,” Bill said.
“We are pleased to be supporting Business North West for the third year running and I am looking forward to meeting members of the region’s business community and helping them to move their ventures forward.”
Graham Niven, regional manager at Angels Den, will be on hand at the Angels Den Theatre, talking about why angels aren’t dragons. He will be joined by North West entrepreneur, Philip Dyer, chairman at marketing consultancy, NXO, who will share his experience of getting investment-ready.
Angels Den will also be running a free business funding clinic on both days at the Angels Den Theatre.
Matt Benyon, managing director of Business North West organisers, easyFairs UK, added: “The entrepreneurial spirit of Bill Morrow and the Angels Den team is infectious and we are sure that their years’ of experience will provide delegates with a valuable insight into how to get their businesses funded.”
Entry is free for visitors to the exhibition. To book a stand or register to attend, visit www.easyfairs.com/businessnorthwest.

Angels Den (www.angelsden.com) has one of the largest Angel networks in Europe, with over 4000 Angel investors and links to thousands more via syndicates.
It provides a direct route to an Angel investor and is the only company to offer individual, one-on-one pitches, which it says are less intimidating and more rewarding for both the person pitching the new business concept and the Angel investor at its regular SpeedFunding™ events (a similar concept to Speed Dating)
Angels Den pioneered SpeedFunding™, based on Speed Dating, where entrepreneurs pitch to a business Angel individually or in small groups then move on to the next one, seeing up to 15 Angels at one session and achieving great results. It is still the only company in the UK to offer this pitching format so SpeedFunding™ events are generally oversubscribed.
SpeedFundings’™ success is attributed to the chemistry that starts to evolve during a face-to-face chat between the entrepreneur and Angel, which simply doesn’t happen when an entrepreneur presents to Angels ‘en masse’. On average 90% of entrepreneurs pitching at an investment event gain at least one interested Angel and some have as many as ten from a single event.
